Manaus starts the year with a typical party of Brazil: the Carnival. The Manaus Carnival is one of the largest in the northern region, a mixture of the samba schools parade with the traditional costumes of the region, along with the carnival is held the Carnaboi which is a mixture of carnival rhythms with the boi-bumba of Parintins.

The costume parade is held in one of the main avenues, Avenida Eduardo Ribeiro.The samba schools parade is held in sambódromo "convention center in Manaus."

Between the months of April and May is held the Amazonas Opera Festival at the Teatro Amazonas

The month of June is the Month of Mestizo and Caboclo, is celebrated since 2007 in honor of Day of the Mestizo celebrated on June 24, this event is author of Mestizo Nation NGO in partnership with the municipal authority, and state. 

In July is held the Amazonas Jazz Festival, the festival takes place since 2006 in the Amazon Theater, the festival also focuses on activities in workshops held during the event.

Samba Manaus conducted between the months of September or October. Began in 2001 with 10 hours of live samba with three national attractions, but the positive result in the following years the event was held over two days.

This year to reach 10 years of existence for being the biggest event of the consolidated Samba in Brazil has become a three-day festival. Emphasizing Manaus as the second capital of samba in Brazil.

Between the months of October or November we have the Amazonas Film Festival.

On October 24 is the Manaus anniversary, celebrated with Boi Manaus, three consecutive days of festivities held at the cultural center of Manaus. The commemoration is made up of electric trios with singers and bands, Boi Bumba with cultural dances and rhythms of the city.
