The Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição is also part of the history of the city of Manaus, because it was the town's first church built after the founding of Manaus.

Mercado Municipal Adolpho Lisboa

The municipal market was quite a story in its construction. 

It was officially opened in 1882 and considered a replica of the former Les Halles market in Paris, has a central masonry flag, flanked by two pavilions with structure in cast iron and wrought iron porch with tracery and stained glass. It was listed by the Historical and Artistic Heritage - IPHAN and is one of the most important marketing local products. 

Palácio Rio Negro

It was built as the residence of a wealthy merchant of rubber, the German Waldemar Scholtz, 

the Rio Negro Palace was built in the late nineteenth century and was known at the time of its construction as Palace Scholtz. 

Starting in 1911 came to host the State government and the state ended up buying this property,

which began to be called Rio Negro Palace.

Porto Flutuante de Manaus

Its the largest floating port in the world and that feeds the Manaus Free Zone,

and of extreme importance to northern Brazil. 

The port is situated at the margin of the Rio Negro, and offers a peculiar architecture. 

It also has a whole history, from the economic cycle that the rubber provided to the city.

Teatro Amazonas

Symbol of prosperity and richness living in the golden period of rubber. Its project was approved for construction in 1881

and this time the height of the Manaus lived the Rubber Cycle, it was one of the most prosperous cities in the world because

of the richness brought through the rubber.

For the construction of the theater were brought from Europe, several architects, painters,and builders. The hall has baroque features

and stands in the ceiling painting called "The Glorification of Fine Arts in the Amazon."

The Theatre has a wide diversity of environments, designed with different materials, hence it is considered an eclectic space.

It is without doubt the most important building in town, not only for their invaluable architectural value, but mainly for its

historical importance, is living proof of prosperity and wealth experienced in the heyday of the rubber.

Encontro das águas

A natural phenomenon that results from the junction of the dark waters of the famous Rio Negro

and the muddy waters of the Amazon River, known as the Solimões River.

The waters run side by side and do not mix for a certain distance traveled. 

They do not mix due to the difference of temperatures, densities and currents of water.

This meeting is spectacular, where nature can be contemplated

Zoológico do CIGS - Centro de Instruções de Guerra na Selva

This place offers visitors information about the region fauna.

It currently has about 171 animals of 58 species. Besides lectures and practical activities relating to preservation of the environment and wildlife, the zoo is also investing in the recovery of victimized animals to return to their natural habitats.
